LPGA Legends ready to tee it up Saturday on the Pete Dye at French Lick

FRENCH LICK, Ind., Aug. 18, 2016 – The Legends Tour has announced its pairings for this weekend’s 4th annual Legends Championship presented by Old National Bank.

Defending champion Juli Inkster will be among 50 Legends Tour players who will return to the Hoosier State Aug. 19-21. The championship will once again be staged on the Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort in French Lick, Ind.

"We're thrilled to be back," said Jane Blalock, CEO of The Legends Tour. "The players love coming to French Lick Resort and the Pete Dye Course is a truly magnificent experience, providing the ultimate test of shot making for our seasoned LPGA veterans."

Eight LPGA and World Golf Hall of Famers will compete in this year’s field, giving golf fans a chance to see LPGA Tour legends Pat Bradley, Laura Davies, Donna Caponi, Hollis Stacy, JoAnne Carner, Patty Sheehan, Juli Inkster and Sandra Haynie.

Legends Hall of Fame members competing in this year’s field include Jane Blalock, Jan Stephenson, Rosie Jones and the most recent Legends Hall of Fame inductee Elaine Crosby.
Past tournament champions Lorie Kane of Canada and Laurie Rinker of Florida will also return to French Lick this week.

Susie Redman of The Woodlands, Texas, and Moira Dunn of Tampa, Fla., both advanced into the tournament field through a qualifying event. Redman and Dunn are LPGA Tour veterans.
In addition to The Legends Tour field, eight Legends Honors division players (age 63 and over) will compete in the 36-hole event.

The Legends Championship will offer a tournament purse of $325,000, awarding $37,700 to the winner. The Legends Honors event will compete for a separate purse.

The event’s pro-am tournament will be held Friday, Aug. 19, followed by the annual Legends Tour Hall of Fame induction dinner on Friday evening.

Tickets for the championship will be $15 for adults, with youth 13 and under, as well as active military with ID, admitted free. Tickets will be valid for both rounds of the championship with 100 percent of all proceeds benefiting Riley Children’s Hospital. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com.
