Crosby to host 15th annual Wendy's Classic in Michigan

July 30, 2015

JACKSON, Mich., July 29, 2015 – The Wendy’s Charity Classic Pro-Am presented by Coca-Cola will mark its 15th annual return to Michigan next month. The event is set for Monday, August 10, and will once again be hosted by the Country Club of Jackson. The annual pro-am will feature 24 legends of the LPGA and will include LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame members Nancy Lopez and Pat Bradley.

The event will kick off with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. “The LPGA Legends love coming to play this event in Jackson,” said Jackson native and LPGA Tour veteran Elaine Crosby, who will be joined in the event by fellow Michigander Cindy Figg-Currier of Mt. Pleasant.

Once again, the event will support Wendy’s Wonderful Kids and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. The pro-am tournament has raised $2.25 million for the charity since 1999, helping hundreds of waiting children find permanent, loving families.

“We’ve helped so many kids over the years and these pros are really proud and honored to be a part of this event,” added Crosby, who won twice on the LPGA Tour and once on the Legends Tour, the official senior tour of the LPGA. “The pros love this course and the Jackson community, and we hope LPGA fans will come out to support this worthy cause.”

Admission to the pro-am is free, but donations at the gate for the charities will be appreciated.
