April 6, 2015

Morning Drive talent Damon Hack and Paige Mackenzie will be at Cypress Lake Country Club

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., April 6, 2015 – The Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, is excited to announce that Golf Channel’s premier morning show, Morning Drive, will broadcast live from Cypress Lake Country Club during the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial Thursday, April 16 through Sunday, April 19. Morning Drive hosts Damon Hack and Paige Mackenzie will anchor the coverage from Fort Myers.

The show will originate on a stage near the practice putting green all four days. There will be two live hits from the course each morning between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

The hosts will interview players from both Tours and representatives from Chico’s and Stand Up To Cancer.

“In just its second year, the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial is an event unlike any other on the Symetra Tour,” said Chief Business Officer of the Symetra Tour, Mike Nichols. “The inclusion of the Legends Tour event coupled with the on-site live coverage by the Golf Channel, has elevated this event to a level not previously seen on the Symetra Tour.”

The Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial will feature the top 144 up-and-coming professional golfers from the Symetra Tour and 30 former LPGA greats from the Legends Tour.

The Symetra Tour will play 72-holes starting on Thursday, while the Legends Tour will play 36-holes starting on Saturday. Players from both Tours will be paired together during weekend play.

Last month, the Legends Tour field was released and will feature nine LPGA Hall-of-Famers including Nancy Lopez, Pat Bradley and Betsy King. To date, nine of the top ten on the Symetra Tour’s Volvik Race for the Card money list have committed to play in the event. Sue Kim, who won the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic in Lake Wales, leads the money list and is expected to compete.

Players from both Tours are competing for separate $150,000 tournament purses. The winners will earn $22,500.

Fans are encouraged to assemble around the stage to watch the show segments and to have a chance to be on national television. Opportunities to meet the Golf Channel hosts will also be available.
