DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., April 2, 2015 – The Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, in conjunction with the Legends Tour and Chico’s are excitezd to announce three sponsor exemptions that will compete in the 2015 Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial the week of April 13 at Cypress Lake Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida. Former Big Break Myrtle Beach contestant Katie Detlefsen has been added to the Symetra Tour event while local legend Terry-Jo Myers and two-time LPGA winner Gail Graham have been added to the Legends Tour field.
“This is a unique opportunity to align the future stars of the LPGA Tour with living legends who produced countless LPGA Tour major championships,” said Mike Nichols, Chief Business Officer of the Symetra Tour. “This event will serve as an opportunity for our players to continue the development process by learning from some of the best to ever play the game and for fans to experience an unprecedented two Tours at one venue.”
The Symetra Tour event begins on Thursday, April 16 and runs through Sunday, April 19 while the Legends Tour event starts on Saturday, April 18 and concludes with the Symetra Tour event on Sunday. Symetra Tour players and Legends Tour players will be paired together during weekend play.
While players from both tours will be paired together on Saturday and Sunday, each has a separate $150,000 tournament purse. The Symetra Tour winner and the Legends Tour winner will both earn $22,500.
“The four players, two with local ties, will add to what already is going to be a fantastic and unique event,” said tournament director Matt Hoover. “We’re grateful that our title sponsor, Chico’s, had this vision to put together a one-of-a-kind event.”
Detlefsen, 26, was a participant on the Golf Channel reality series Big Break Myrtle Beach. In addition to pursuing a career on the LPGA Tour, she is also a Class A LPGA Teaching Professional at Raptor Bay Golf Academy in Southwest Florida. Detlefsen played college golf at the University of Central Florida and in 2010 was the recipient of the prestigious Dinah Shore Award. She currently resides in Fort Myers.

Patty was a role model of mine growing up. Since I was a girl, I've dreamed of playing on the LPGA Tour. I am honored to play in this special event that combines LPGA Legends with future stars, providing a unique experience for golf fans of all ages.”
Myers, a Fort Myers native, played on the LPGA Tour from 1986-2003. She won three times on the LPGA Tour including twice in 1997. Myers won the Heather Farr Award in 1997. She also won the Ben Hogan Award from the Golf Writers Association of America in 1998. Myers played in the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial in 2014.
Graham, who played on the LPGA Tour from 1990-2006, has three professional wins on her resume including two on the LPGA Tour. She represented the World Team in the Handa Cup five times (2009-2013). She is currently the Tournament Director for the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples.
