Teaming up for the first time in Handa Cup history, Meg Mallon and Nancy Lopez put points on the board for the U.S. by defeating Tina Tombs and Anne Marie Palli, 3 and 1.
Mieko Nomura of Japan was a bright spot for the World side once again, winning her singles match against Patty Sheehan.
Liselotte Neumann of Sweden and Alicia Dibos of Peru paired up to grab the only team match victory for the World, taking out Pat Bradley and Patty Sheehan.
