the putt to take a two shot lead into the last two holes. Cindy Rarick
threatened to make it interesting with a birdie on the final hole to
move to four under, with Johnson sitting at five under coming up the
18th fairway. Johnson parred 18 to keep her lead and claim the trophy in
this inaugural year for the Patty Sheehan & Friends Tournament. |

The U.S. Team won the Cup for the sixth time, closing out the World with
a strong showing in both the team and singles matches. Rosie Jones kept
her Handa Cup winning streak alive, going undefeated on the weekend.
Also undefeated in their matches were JoAnne Carner, Beth Daniel,
Christa Johnson, Sherri Steinhauer, Michele Redman and Meg Mallon. On
the World side, Peruvian Alicia Dibos dominated the Americans with a 2-0
performance, earning 6 of the World's 14 points. |
