Innisbrook, FL, November 21, 2009 – Rumor has it the Island Course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club is a challenge. Three Legends of the LPGA answered with a one under 71 for the opening round of the Legends Tour Open Championship. Legends Tour Rookies Sherri Steinhauer and Betsy King and Local Qualifier Laura Shanahan Rowe are the overnight leaders in the Legends Tour’s first major championship.
Following the three leaders, Shelly Hamlin and Debbie Massey are tied for fourth at an even par 72. Hall of Famers JoAnne Carner and Sandra Haynie both shot three over for a first round 75.

Admission to the Legends Tour Open Championship is free; a suggested donation of $15 per person to Ruth Eckerd Hall, the LTOC’s charitable partner, is encouraged. Free public parking is available at Belcher and Klostermann, please follow signs to the lot entrance.
